Yes, I have heard of "Experiencing God" by Dr. Blackaby. Ive heard good things about it but haven't read it myself so I can't recommend it.
Thanks for your comments Kelly. I have experienced many of the same discussions you have. The interesting thing is that the arguments for God's existence are overwhelmingly on the side of the Theologians. It's just the secular academics receive most of the press without any discussion of the contributions made by the world's leading apologist and philosophers.
If you are interested in this subject and would like some terrific resources, I would encourage you to read and/or listen to Dr. Ravi Zacharias and Dr. William Lane Craig. These men have produced many terrific contributions that have left the atheists flat footed in my estimation. Here are some links to their audio podcast you may enjoy. Just Thinking (Ravi Zacharias) or Reasonable Faith by William Lane Craig

This was a very interesting topic as I have a brother that is an atheist and sides with mainstream academia on most of his beliefs. He has no understanding of a relationship with God and at times it is so hard for me to converse with him as he is very academically minded.

When I read your blog-post I was reminded of something that I recently read, stating that, "If Satan cannot gain control over someone or something, then he will corrupt it." I believe society's negligence to even recognize the existence of Satan as an actual being, not a concept; has been one of Satan's greatest victories. From there, he has been able to twist and corrupt so many minds. When there is no evil or darkness in this world, why search for truth and light?

The other corruption that I have recently run into, this being from a fellow Christian friend, whom has been a Christian for 20+ years... She has begun to contort the truth in her head, wondering, that if God can forgive us as sinners, why can He not forgive Satan? What do you answer to this?

Thank you for your interesting post, I will have to read the others.
